Wally Bransen, President / Chief Executive Officer

Wally has been with Chicago Aerosol since 2002. He focuses on Chicago Aerosol's future growth as a provider of the highest level of products, services and support. Wally strives to have an open and honest relationship with all Chicago Aerosol employees and its customers. He relies on their mutual respect and forward thinking ideas to help build the business. 

Before Chicago Aerosol, Wally served as CFO for Macke Laundry Service/KPMG. He has a BS degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. Wally is a Certified Public Accountant and has been awarded the Elijah Watts Sells Award, a prestigious award that recognizes the outstanding performers of the uniform CPA examination.

When out of the office Wally enjoys playing basketball, exploring history and playing with his grandchildren.

Sarah Trumbull, Vice President of Finance

Sarah has been with Chicago Aerosol since 2003. She handles the company's finances and provides Chicago Aerosol with insights regarding financial issues that affect operations and growth.

Sarah was previously employed at Visual Business Solutions for four years as an application engineer where she installed and consulted with over 100 various manufacturers to implement their Visual Manufacturing program. Before this position, she served as a Staff Accountant for Waeschle, Ltd., an engineering firm that designed and manufactured process kneaders. Sarah was also a Plant Accountant with Wallace Computer Services in their label and distribution division.

Sarah received a Bachelors degree in Business with an Accounting emphasis from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Mike Cohen, Director of Compliance / General Counsel

Mike has been with Chicago Aerosol since 2011. His mission is to ensure that the products produced by Chicago Aerosol are compliant with federal and state regulations. Mike tracks changes in laws and regulations that might affect our customers and assists them in evaluating their actions necessary to be in compliance.

Before Chicago Aerosol, Mike served as a Commercial Real Estate Attorney for BP Products, North America. Mike was also the proprietor of the Law Offices of Michael C. Cohen and served as a partner at Frischer & Cohen. He has been an attorney for 16 years.

Mike has a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Outside of work, Mike serves as a Community Representative on Amundsen High School’s Local School Council in Chicago. Mike also used to work as a bar man in one of the busiest pubs in London!

Jim Gleichman, Senior Vice President of Sales (Coal City)

Jim has been with Chicago Aerosol since 2000. His mission is to help grow the company through sales by providing the highest level of products, technical expertise, services and support to our customers.

Jim has served in the aerosol industry for over 35 years, making him extremely knowledgeable in the aerosol industry. Jim served ten years as Customer Service Manager with Peterson/Puritan in Danville, IL and nine years as General Manager, Contract Manufacturing with DeMert & Dougherty. Jim also served four years with Creative Products/International Home Foods until 2000 when he came to work for Chicago Aerosol.

Jim has a Bachelors degree in Physiology and Chemistry from Southern Illinois University.

Bob Peter, Vice President of Sales (Coal City)

Bob has been with Chicago Aerosol since 2000. His mission is to help grow the company through sales by providing the highest level of products, technical expertise, services and support to our customers.

Bob has served in the beauty industry for almost 30 years, making him a valuable asset to the Chicago Aerosol's extensive group of hair care customers. Bob has previously worked for several companies in the beauty industry, including Sebastian International, DeMert & Dougherty, Tressa, Inc. and Creative Products.

Bob has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education with a minor in Psychology and Sociology from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL.

Outside of work, Bob enjoys playing golf, landscaping and home improvement projects.

Bryan Smith, Vice President of Sales (Bridgeview)

Bryan has been with Chicago Aerosol since 2011. His mission is to help grow the company through sales by providing the highest level of products, technical expertise, services and support to our customers.

Prior to his position with Chicago Aerosol, Bryan was a senior consultant for Profit Consultants, LLC where he provided management services for privately owned businesses. Bryan also served 16 years as Account Executive and Sales Manager for Hydrosol, Inc.

Bryan has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and earned certification in their Total Quality Management program. He also earned the Buyer Focused Sales Certification from Xerox Corporation.

Bryan enjoys running and bicycling and was a first place winner of the Chicago Aerosol Lazyman Triathlon. Bryan has been married for 21 years and has three wonderful children.

Tim Smith, Vice President of Sales (Bridgeview)

Tim has been with Chicago Aerosol since 2006. His mission is to help grow the company by personally providing the highest level of products, technical expertise, and services to our customers. In support of this mission, Tim is also active in the company’s merger and acquisitions activities.

Prior to joining Chicago Aerosol, Tim served 20 years in various sales and executive roles at Hydrosol, Inc. Tim holds a BA from St. Xavier University in Chicago and a MS from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

Bobbie Jemilo, Customer Service Manager

Bobbie has been with Chicago Aerosol since 2006. Bobbie manages the company's customer service department and ensures that our customers get the most outstanding service and attention in the industry.

Bobbie was previously employed at Hydrosol and Bridgeview Aerosol where she began her career in the aerosol industry.

When not working at Chicago Aerosol, Bobbie enjoys playing softball, swimming, boating and biking. She also enjoys spending as much time with her family and four pawed friends as possible.

Research & Development

Carol Schmatz, Vice President of Technical Services (Coal City)

Carol has been with Chicago Aerosol since its inception in 2000. Carol oversees the research and development of products primarily in the personal care area and is also responsible for quality control, the specifications department and troubleshooting product issues. Her mission is to help support the company with her extensive knowledge of aerosol formulation and quality control.

Carol has served in the aerosol industry for over 36 years. She served for 23 years at Accra Pac, now KIK Custom Products, located in Elkhart, Indiana before coming to Chicago Aerosol.

Carol has a Bachelors degree in Biology from Purdue University. She is a member of the Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA), Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Midwest Aerosol Association and the American Chemical Society.

In her spare time, Carol enjoys bike riding, traveling and sports. She supports her favorite teams - the Buffalo Bills, Purdue, the Chicago White Sox and the Bulls.

Ed Piszynski, Vice President of Laboratory Services (Bridgeview)

Ed has been with Chicago Aerosol since 2011. He has served in the aerosol industry for over 50 years, primarily dealing in consumer and industrial aerosol formulation, packaging, and regulatory matters. Before Chicago Aerosol, Ed served in the same capacity for Hydrosol, Inc. and Bridgeview Aerosol, LLC.

Ed earned a BSLA in Chemistry and an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. He currently serves on the Consumer Specialty Products (CSPA) Association Industrial and Automotive Division Executive Board, the Air Quality Committee, and the Aerosol Division Executive Board. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Midwest Aerosol Association. As a member of these associations, he has participated in the development of regulatory issues on local, state, and federal levels.

Ed has received multiple awards in recent years including the CSPA Industrial & Automotive Division Volunteer Recognition Award in 2008 and 2013, the American Coatings Association Industry Achievement Award in 2009 and the CSPA Board of Directors Award in 2008 and 2012.

When Ed is out of the office he enjoys reading, computer activities, model making and home improvement.

Operations

Wayne Arndt, Vice President of Operations

Wayne has been with Chicago Aerosol since its inception in 2000. His aim is to maximize the organization’s growth and profitability by seeking ways to produce products as efficiently as possible while providing an outstanding record of on-time delivery to our customers.

Wayne has served in the aerosol industry for 41 years. Starting as a teen, he worked at DeMert and Dougherty, an aerosol and liquid filler located in the Coal City location. Over the years, Wayne worked his way up to plant manager. Previous employment also included the Red Wing Company, a private label and contract packager of retail food items where he served as plant engineer.

Wayne has taken courses in industrial automation, supply chain management and computerized inventory management at Joliet Junior College and the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.

When not in the office, Wayne enjoys vintage cars, fishing, outdoor conservation activities, and golf. He has five children and is blessed with four grandchildren – and counting!

Michelle Martin (Valerio), Director of Purchasing

Michelle has been with Chicago Aerosol since its inception in 2000. Michelle provides Chicago Aerosol with insights regarding purchasing requirements that may affect operations and growth. She focuses on sourcing components at the lowest possible cost in order to provide our customers the most competitive pricing of their products.

Michelle was previously employed at DeMert and Daugherty where she began her career in the aerosol industry. Michelle was an integral part of the transition of the company from DeMert and Daugherty to Chicago Aerosol. Her expertise and knowledge of the industry made this a smooth transition.

Michelle received a Bachelors degree in Business Management from St. Francis University where she was Phi Beta Kappa and made the Deans List. Michelle is also skilled in the Visual Manufacturing program.
